Matthew Schuler -Baby Steps EP

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - "The sound that brings back great memories of a never forgotten childhood."

I have just found Matthew Schuler on Spotify on a similar artist to Sawyer Fredericks and just knew I had to do a review because this is one great EP!

Matthew came into the spotlight after being a contestant on the American version of The Voice Season 5. You can really see how much Matthew has matured by listening to his first track released called 'Invincible' compared to his latest EP 'Baby Steps'.

The EP blends a pop rock style with RnB and pop vocals that draw you in from the start with his latest single 'Here's To You'. This was the first song I heard and was instantly hooked, knew I had to listen to the whole thing and write a review.

'Secret Things' and 'Profits' just want to make you get up, dance and sing along to with their smooth dance inspired sound.

To me 'Free' reminds me a little of my pop rock phase when I was younger like such bands as Boys Like Girls or Metro Station. It just has that nostalgic sound that really reminds me of that time! 'Live like we're free'.

'Habits (Waste My Life)' is the slowest track on the EP and sounds like a kind of ballad, singing about a destiny and silver lining. Some great lyrics from a brilliant artist.

The last track on the 'Baby Steps EP' is called 'Take Me As I Am' and again has the sound that brings back great memories of a never forgotten childhood. The lyrics near the end say "I gotta walk this road with baby steps until I reach the end" giving the EP it's name. To me my favourite lyrics on the whole EP, stating that it is ok to take small steps to get where you want to be.

A seriously good EP from a very talented artist! I am very impressed and can't wait for more music by Matthew Schuler! In the meantime check him out on our EndlessPop playlist which we have added a couple of his tracks to!
