Jim Camacho a very talented alternative/acoustic singer songwriter from Miami shares some answers to some questions for us!

Q. Explain your sound in 5 words.

A. GLEN HANSARD MEETS PETER GABRIEL

Q. If you could perform at any venue or festival in the world, where would this be?

A. NEIL YOUNG's bridge school benefit

Q. What is your favourite Movie?

A. LES ENFANTS DU PARADIS or Casablanca or something by Mel Brooks

Q. Who are your main influences?

A. My Mom & the Beatles

Q. Do you have any other talents other than being a singer/songwriter? (We won’t believe you if we don’t get video or photo footage!)

A. I'm an actor and I write musicals. ;-)

Q. What is your favourite food?

A. Beer

Q. Where is the best holiday destination you have been or would like to go?

A. Galapagos

Q. If you could collaborate with any artist/producer in the music industry who would this be and why?

A. Ruichi Sakamoto because he is amazing and I think we could make something interesting and worth listening to/ experiencing together.

Q. What do you normally start with when writing a new song? (E.g. the music or the lyrics?)

A. I usually set a timer for 30 mins and vomit it out with the condition that if I don't create a song in 30 minutes, I will be shot by the SS.

Q. What is your favourite song of all time?

A. So many favorites. That said, it would have to be a Beatles or Leonard Cohen song. Maybe “Yesterday” or “Famous Blue Raincoat”. But who knows. Could easily be “Tom Traubert's Blues” by Tom Waits.

Q. Who would you most like to open for or have supporting you on a headline tour?

A. I would love to open for Nick Cave on a tour. And if I could bring an opener, I’d probably tap Ex-Norwegian.

Q. What are the five things you can’t live without?

A. Forgiveness, a great song, a good friend, trusting your instincts and pizza.

Q. What is your motto or advice you live by?

A. Never give up! Never surrender!

Q. What is your main inspiration when writing your songs?

A. Mortality.

Jim is performing a benefit concert on 15th April at Luna Star Cafe for Miami Switchboard and Paws4You! If your in Miami on this day head on down!
