MTN Interview with Rescue Kid

Hey guys thank you for letting us interview you here at Musicate The Nation. Our goal is to educate or the world in good music and we believe you have that sound that could take over the world!

MTN: First things first who are you all and where are you from?

RESCUE KID: Armando, Mike, Eddie, and Chris. We are all from the South Florida area.

MTN: What got you all into music in the first place?

RESCUE KID: We all just seemed to gravitate to music from very young ages. Mike and Chris grew up in a household where music was always play, lots of oldies and 80s and 90s pop. Eddie started playing guitar at a young age and from that got into a lot of punk rock music, and Armando started singing in his teens and has always gravitated to a bizarre combination of hip hop and r&b music, but also really enjoys lots of metal.

MTN: Who put the band together and how long you been playing together?

RESCUE KID: Eddie and Armando were previously in a band together, and after Mike’s band broke up Mike started filling in. the chemistry was great, and then Chris (Mike’s brother) was brought in for bass duties. We’ve been playing together for about 3 years.

MTN: Do any of you have any party tricks/hidden talents that you don’t mind sharing with us?

RESCUE KID: Well, we can drink A LOT. We’ve played a few parties, and our party trick seems to be making the contents of a full bar disappear!

MTN: Do you have any plans for coming over the pond to the England soon?

RESCUE KID: You know, we would love to. Some of us in our previous bands have toured over in England, and hopefully that’s something that one day we as RK will be able to do! As of right now we’re in the studio a lot, and not playing out. Hopefully though once we start playing out we would be able to make it over there, that would be awesome!

MTN: How important is fashion/your look to you as a band?

RESCUE KID: I think at first we were really concerned with it. We all tried to fit a certain image etc etc. Now that we’ve been a band for a while, we really only care about the music. We don’t really give a shit about the image. Image fades, but great music doesn’t.

MTN: If you could all choose one holiday destination in the world to go to where would that be?

RESCUE KID: Some place none of us have ever been to, like Alaska!

MTN: What is your food from around the world?

RESCUE KID: sounds cliché, but Pizza. Give us all the Pizza!

MTN: Who is your main influence/s?

RESCUE KID: Chris and Mike were really influenced early on by Blink 182, and will always be parts of them. Eddie was really influenced early on my Madonna, and Armando as of late is really influenced by Elton John. More so his sense of fashion.

MTN: Name your favourite movies

RESCUE KID: wet hot American summer, Team American, The Bodyguard

MTN: Where is the best place for you to write and come up with your tunes?

RESCUE KID: Mike has a home studio, so everything usually gets done there. We have a band warehouse where we fine tune ideas, but usually Mike will demo them out in his studio and bring them to the band, or Eddie will go to Mike’s studio and they’ll work on it.

MTN: Where did the name come from?

RESCUE KID: Honestly, we got to a point where we were so desperate for names that we just settled. I think if I remember correctly it was really just two random words that Mike saw in his itunes catalogue.

MTN: What gets you all in the Christmas spirit?

RESCUE KID: We have a Christmas medley that we made a year or two ago, on youtube and I think there’s an mp3 of it out there somewhere too!

MTN: If you all had to pick a favourite out of all the songs you have done what would that be?

RESCUE KID: That’s really hard. It’s kind of like kids. You love them all the same, but theres totally a favourite deep down. We’ll never tell ;)

MTN: If you could do a collaboration with any artist in the world who would that be?

RESCUE KID: probably Elton John, due to Armando’s recent obsession.
