MTN: Well first things first for the viewers, who are you, where are you from and what type of music do you make?
NIKO: I’m an almost 20 year old guy, born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. I mostly make House music and stuff around that, but I sometimes like to try something else to keep my creativity flowing in its natural habit.
MTN: How did you get into music?
NIKO: My dad has a big passion for music, so he has guitars and other instruments at home, but what really got me was when he showed me Garageband on his laptop when I was like 6 years old. I did that for a while but since Garageband is kind of limited and not really aimed at the kind of music I wanted to do. I got bored and stopped using that until I found FL Studio several years later, which my friend showed me, I was pretty amazed.
MTN: Who are your main influences?
NIKO: The same friend that introduced me to FL Studio listened to Deadmau5 a lot. I got blown away just listening to Strobe for the first time. House music started getting bigger very quickly at that time, so I found Avicii and Swedish House Mafia a short while later.
NIKO: After that I started listening to Pryda, which is when I really started to notice how that was different from anything else and it inspired me to also try and find a unique sound to make my own music.
MTN: What is your plan for the future?
NIKO: I’m working at the Post Office right now, but I have decided to take the music to a higher level. So I want to move to Los Angeles and hopefully study music production there next year.
MTN: What is your favourite type of food?
NIKO: I don’t really know, but if it’s got bacon in it, I’ll eat it!
MTN: Lol nice one!
MTN: What has made you choose Los Angeles to study and not Stockholm or somewhere else in the world?
NIKO: I went there last year and I just felt at home. My mom is from Brazil and my dad is Swedish, so it’s kind of like a great mix. Also with the great weather and head from Brazil, but it works like stuff does in Sweden. It’s not as chaotic as Brazil usually is and then I watched Entourage of course, which is a big tease.
MTN: What embarrassing songs might I find on your MP3 player?
NIKO: Avicii – Levels haha
MTN: Embarrassing? That song is awesome!
NIKO: Haha well it’s that everyone has heard it a million times lol
MTN: More embarrassing than that!
NIKO: No but I actually have the epic sax guy song on my mp3 player hehe. You know this one
MTN: No but that is great! However also slightly annoying! Lol!
MTN: Other than your talent for producing music, what other hidden talents do you have?
NIKO: Well it’s not really a talent, but I have a big passion for cars so I have a pretty big knowledge on that subject. I love to drive my Jaguar late at night just cruising through town listening to the “Sphere Lounge Radio” Podcast. Other than that I like to make short films and edit stuff when I’m not making music! J
MTN: Where would you most like to perform?
NIKO: Since I watched the first Ultra Live stream I’ve felt like I’ve always wanted to play there. However, I think I mostly want to play at Eighter Summerburst or Brὰvalla Festival here in Sweden.
Since it’s at home where it all began and have my mates down in the crowd front row!
MTN: I like that answer, sticking true to your roots!
MTN: Last question, when is the next track coming out?! That is what we are all dying to know!
NIKO: I have a kind of deep track in the works at the moment actually, don’t really have a name for it yet!
MTN: How exciting! Thanks for the interview Niko. We all look forward to hearing the new tune coming soon and more amazing tunes to come in the future!
NIKO: Thank you for having me!
MTN: Haha, no problem!
